ORAYA SYNTHETICS | Synthetic embodiment, expression, movement and presence

“Synthetic origin, human presence.”

ORAYA SYNTHETICS develops synthetic embodiment technologies: the software layer that connects intelligence and intent with physical bodies capable of expression, movement and coherent human presence.

Our work focuses on expression, coordination and movement architecture. We translate speech, intent and context into physical behaviour on humanoid hardware, independently of the cognitive system or robotic platform being used.

We are not trying to build the entire robot or develop the artificial intelligence that drives it. We work on the layer between the two.

ORAYA Head Unit

ORAYA Head Unit is our experimental reference platform for synthetic embodiment. It allows us to research and validate how speech, intent and context can be translated into expression, movement and presence on a physical system.

The Head Unit is not intended as a mass-produced hardware product. It is a technology demonstrator and development platform for our expression and coordination architecture.

Its purpose is to demonstrate that a shared software layer can translate synthetic behaviour into coherent physical movement and, in the future, adapt to different humanoid platforms.

PersonS

PersonS is an active ORAYA SYNTHETICS application for personal conversation, designed for private, natural and everyday interaction.

It runs locally without an internet connection, keeping conversations on the user’s device. All processing takes place directly on the hardware, so the experience may vary depending on the system being used.

PersonS represents one of the first public applications of our research in human–synthetic interaction. While PersonS explores the conversational and relational dimension in the digital domain, ORAYA’s current research extends that work into expression, movement and physical presence.
